The charming and not long renovated Gables is in the heart of the preferred Oxfordshire village of Churchill and only a few minute walk from the famed Chequers dining pub.
Retaining many traditional features but with a light and bright contemporarily furnished interior, the cottage has four bedrooms and three bathrooms – two en-suite – over the first and second floors with a fourth shower room in the garden annex; which also houses the games room, with pool table, and study.
On the ground floor there is a kitchen breakfast room with island seating linked to the recently added bright dining room cum sitting room two extension – that opens up onto the patio and onto the garden – and an large L shaped cosy sitting room with wood burning stove. The garden is mainly laid to lawn and is equipped for outdoor dining and welcomes well behaved dogs upon request – subject to size, age and the season – but as a note one neighbour has access via the path for refuse collation day, which is a Monday.
There is gated off-road parking with the cottage
Peter and Emma-Jane say: “‘We have always loved the Cotswolds and used to spend weekends in different villages … we chose here because it has such a great pub plus a village green, a beautiful church and a lovely feeling of community.”
