An extended former Victorian Hunting Lodge comprising a five bedroom main house and a self contained two bedroom cottage with heated pool set in 50 acres.
An extended former Victorian Hunting Lodge, Brookside has five bedrooms and two bathrooms in the main house and two bedrooms and one bathroom with bath shower in the self contained cottage to one side of the drive and next to the former stables. The house is more formally furnished and the cottage more English Country Cottage in feel.
The gardens are large and quiet with spots ideal for a sundowner as the rear of the house faces south west with gorgeous views across the rolling Cotswold hills. The entrance hall with log burning stove is a lovely place to take time out in its own right and leads down to the kitchen dining room which can be set up for an intimate dinner or for up to 13 with an extension table. This has french doors that open onto the front patio that has a fountain as its centre piece. There are two further receptions rooms, the formal drawing room with baby grand piano, and off of that the library cum television room that will be furnished for a relaxing movie with large sofa and rearrangeable casual (loafing) seating. The drawing room opens out onto a south west facing terrace that looks out over the large private gardens, and over 50 private acres for walks and picnics.
The swimming pool is in the rose garden behind the cottage and rear courtyard that has plentiful parking space and a Tesla charging point is planned. Although the house does not have a gym the stables are ideal if you would like us to help you hire in equipment for your stay. There will be more images added over the coming month.
The house sits on one of the two lanes into the village but they offer only access to the village so is a quiet one. Laverton does not have a pub in the village but Brookside Lodge is in comfortable footpath walking distance of The Mount Inn in Stanway and Buckland Manor as well as the renown Jill Carenza riding school. There are great walks – and rides – close to the house or village including The Cotswold Way and The Winchcombe Way and the famous market town of Broadway is only 2.6 miles away; from where the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Steam Railway runs summer services to Cheltenham Racecourse.
