Capture The Experience
Our 1968 E-Type Jaguar is one of the world’s most iconic cars, a true British classic, hailed – allegedly – by Enzo Ferrari as the “most beautiful car in the world” high praise indeed but below is possibly the true [er] version! Our E-Type is the superbly practical 2+2 FHC [fixed head couple], with two seat belted rear seats ideal for two – younger – children or one adult.
Totally restored as a labour of love by an owner between 2015 and 2019, with ungraded brakes, rebuilt engine and complete body and interior restoration including Connolly leather and Wilton wool carpets; since when it has only covered 5,000 miles. Looked after – like the Bentley S3 – by The Classic Motor Hub it is ready for an amazing classic Cotswold experience. And when you arrive to pick up their excellent coffee is on us.
We have also personally equipped our E-Type so you can enjoy the classic English countryside even more, furnishing it with:
- two sizes of ladies and men’s Dent leather driving gloves, an English heritage brand since 1779
- an English wicker picnic basket with champagne flutes, red wine glasses, water tumblers, white cotton napkins, salt & pepper grinders, waiters corkscrew and bottle stoppers
- a beautiful pure wool Moon – a fine Yorkshire mill established in 1839, the same year Queen Victoria came to the throne – picnic blanket
- a pair of shooting sticks
- folding picnic table and four stools
- a pair of ready to use Ray Ban Transitions Meta glasses so you can capture, share and keep your experience
Like the Bentley our E-Type is insured for self drive hire and comes with Breakdown Assistance and can be picked up from – and returned to – the Classic Motor Hub or they can bring it to you on a trailer or even come and pick you up from your stay to save you driving to the Hub yourself. The Enzo Ferrari Story
According to Norman Dewis, who was was working on the Jaguar stand at Geneva in 1961 when the E-Type was launched, Enzo Ferrari reportedly strolled up with a gang of Ferrari engineers and after examining an E-Type Fixed-Head Coupe [FHC like ours], Enzo said in Italian: “Congratulations! What a truly beautiful car, it must be the most beautiful car in the world! But you know, it has one fault? It does not have a Ferrari badge on it!”
