19 Queen Square Bath

ENQUIRE

An extraordinary, historic and elegant Georgian townhouse at the epicentre of Bath with magnificently sized rooms, perfect for a very, very special grown-up birthday party, sumptuous dinner parties, corporate aways, a relaxing family retreat or as the best base to explore Bath and beyond.

Built in 1735, this Palladian villa is a beautiful family oriented house. Recently refurbished with care, preserving its Georgian elegance and grandeur. The house overlooks the iconic and leafy Queen Square and is filled with light from the tall sash windows.

On the ground floor there is an elegant full width rear drawing room, a study and snug television room and cloakroom. On the Lower Ground Floor there is a traditionally styled but full equipped kitchen breakfast room – ideal for more intimate dining – next door to which is the full width dining room seating up to 24 – now re-painted a deep rich red – perfect for large suppers or board meetings. Off the dining room is a fully-equipped utility room which leads out to the quite good sized garden, rare for a central Bath townhouse, and onto the private gated parking. We will have pictures of the garden come the spring.

Over the upper three floors there are six imposing bedrooms, all with space to spread out and relax; and three fully fitted Jack & Jill bathrooms with both bath and separate shower cubical; as well as a separate cloakroom on the top floor. As the bedrooms are really very large and all full house width, 19 Queen Square can sleep up to 20 in great comfort, and we have shown the bed configurations on the floor plan above. But although the house works very well in the round for a larger group it also works for a smaller family group, with or without staff.

The house is right in the centre of Bath, so everything you could possibly want to see or do is only a few minutes walk away. One of the very first houses built in Bath in Georgian times its position is absolutely perfect on Bath’s famous Queen Square. And the house has a secure private parking space just to the rear – with gated access – and therefore discreet access to the house via the rear of the Lower Ground Floor. The full gallery with pictures of all the principle rooms and all the bedrooms is below.

Guest Book

"This house exceeds expectations, huge spacious rooms and definitely space for more than 10 guests with room to spare. Not just a house with a lot of bedrooms to accommodate guests but also sufficient living space, kitchen, dining table etc. Central location and although no parking is included (NOTE: there are now two private parking spaces right behind the house now) a very good value car park is a stones throw away and cost just £17.50 for the weekend. Dan was very quick to respond to questions before our stay and provided lots of local recommendations. Would 100% recommend - we are already planning our next occasion we can use as an excuse to live the luxury life in Bath again!" Alice

"What a house! This is a beautiful place to stay and perfect for a large group looking for a cultured weekend in Bath. Parking can be tough on a busy weekend in December (NOTE: there are now two private parking spaces right behind the house now) but this is in an amazing location. Would definitely recommend." Gareth

"This is a beautiful house and was a great location to bring the family together to celebrate my youngest daughters 21st birthday. It was beautifully furnished and, although big, felt homely, thanks to the lovely decorations. The kitchen was very well stocked with cutlery and crockery so very easy to prepare large meals. Fantastically central, so also very easy to eat out. Absolute luxury right in the middle of bath! We had a wonderful time." Sue

"This is a beautiful house in a fantastic location. The house was beautifully furnished and decorated and most comfortable. The pictures do not do it justice - rooms are so large and spacious and the dining table is immense fantastic for a great feast. Kitchen has everything you could need (including essential wine fridge). Hosts were most friendly and responded to the couple of queries we had quickly. Even met us early as the traffic had been lighter that we expected. I would not hesitate to recommend this but it is a house to respect and look after. Perfect for a family trip." Jill

"The house was amazing! Very well located and very comfortable for our big group of 18. Katie and Dan were also fantastic hosts who were flexible, helpful and communicated really well. We had a fabulous weekend at the house and would highly recommend it!" Alyshia

"Wonderful House and Hosts - We were in Bath for a gathering and this house was wonderful. We were 18 people and the house fit us all very comfortably (with space for more!) It was clean and wonderfully decorated. The location is fantastic and easy walking distance to everything in town. I would highly recommend staying here." Jennifer
